Default Is this civic worth 2.5k?

Alright, so im looking for a cheap car, because of problems with my eclipse, and i see this 93-95 civic hatch with a for sale sign. So i went and talked to the guy for a lil bit, and he told me it had a ls swap, and a few other mods, like it was lowered, had rims, and other small mods. not the car isnt in good shape, the front bumper isnt on correctly, it needs a paint job, it needs brakes, and a new starter. On the bright side, it comes with skunk exhaust, but currently runs straight pipe. So what do you guys think, is 2.5k a fair price? Because I was thinking more on the lines of 1.5k to 2k

$1500 to $1750 imo.

I had a 93 hatch that I bought with a full B18C1 (GSR) swap, that was in roughly the same shape, and I bought it for $1800.

My guess? Everything in the engine bay, except the engine. Those DSM engines are bulletproof, but everything around them is made of glass .

And even the engine in the 2g DSM is prone to crankwalk

The engine isnt the problem, its everything else, just like what was said, lol. I would take the time to get it fixed, but when they quoted me close to 1k just for the A/C, thats when i knew i needed a new car. Love the car, just need a change.
When I saw the civic hatch, I knew I had to have it, but not at 2.5k. Im thinking about offering him 1.5k and seeing where it goes from there? I think he thinks the swap is worth more than it really is

I would see the swap as a negative if I was just looking for a beater DD. I don't want some half-ass swap job from someone that doesn't know what they're doing. Thats how you get ridiculous problems that are hard to diagnose. My $.02.

it depends, OP, where are you located? Civic hatchbacks in SoCal don't sell for the same price as they do in Montana.

Oh, did i mention that it needs a part made for the clutch to work? Lol but the engine is a b18 with type r head. I contacted him yesterday and he's saying " ive got other people interested", which im sure is just a sales pitch haha

Sounds like a huge headache. Even if you get the car for $1500, you are going to need to fix a lot of stuff on it, so the car will prob end up costing you $3-4000. If I were you, I'd just buy a stock Civic and keep it stock.
