This is the tame version of the new Type R. Its got a new 2.0 iVTEC engine, which pushes out the same 197 bhp as the current CTR's engine. However Honda have made the car lighter than their rival's cars in a bid to match the performance.
Honda are also producing a Type RR for the European market which will be a stripped lightweight version. Its also being reported that the Type RR will have more power.
AutoCar magazine ran a preview article this week, should appear on www.autocar.co.uk next week.
More CTR's are sold in the UK than anywhere else in the world!!

Which end is the front?
The 5 door hatch version of this Civic sold in the EU has a swing-beam rear suspension. I can't imagine that they would sell a TypeR version of that car with such an anti-sporty suspension. I wonder if the beam setup could be replaced by mulitilink double wishbone in back for the 3 door hatch...

They'd better not call that a CRX at any point; they already kind of ruined the CRX with that thing they called a Del Sol here in the US.
The CRX has NOTHING to do with the del Sol. To me that's like saying Honda ruined the CR-V by introducing the Element. The CRX and the del Sol were totally different cars. Totally different.

These days, who would want to buy a two-seater front wheel drive car (if it so happens the CRX returns)? I imagine the market would be pretty small.
IMHO if i wanted a two seater, it would have to be rwd.
