Default Civic SI bounce like crazy

I know this have nothing to do with S2KI, but i actually own both car; a 2003 s2000 and a 2000 Si...I originally installed a 2 inch lowering spring to the civic, the car was fine and dandy untill it star to bounce excessively (not one of those thirty second later bounce)....looks like one side of the rear wheel is lower than the rest...anybody have this bouncy problem??? thanks.

Yeah, maybe you should get new shocks too.

Just a personal side note: I can't believe Honda did not put antilock breaking on the 2000 Civic Si. I was number 4 in a 5 car pile-up. I skid about 15 feet from around 50 mph and got smashed in the back by a 1 ton truck. For a while the car had the worst breaking record of any car tested. 165' from 60mph. Sorry for getting a little off topic, just going down memory lane.

Stock, factory shocks on passenger vehicles are not deigned to work with lower and/or stiffer springs than what the factory provided. The reason that the car is bouncy with the new springs is that the rebound valving of your shocks is insufficent to dampen the oscilation of your stiffer springs. This problem is compounded by the fact that the springs are 2" shorter than stock. Because the springs are 2" shorter, that means that the shock is starting it's range of motion 2" away from the spot where it's optimal dampening range would be.

because ABS costs money, and a civic si that costs anymore than what it did would had fallen into the integra pricerange. if you had wanted a "civic" with ABS, you shoulda opted for the integra gsr.

What I found interesting is that the '00 Civic EX had ABS as an option. Hell, I would have paid extra to get it on the Si at the time. I would come up to stop signs on a damp road at 5 mph and skid a foot.

First off 2" drop on factory shocks and struts is not a very smart thing. As mentioned before good aftermarket strut combo should cure your problem. Remember the cheap way might work for a while, but will cost you in the end.

what kind of tires do you have on your Si? skidding from 5 mph doesn't sound like a braking issue, but a traction issue.

but of course, that doesn't work too well in panic mode
