Stock, factory shocks on passenger vehicles are not deigned to work with lower and/or stiffer springs than what the factory provided. The reason that the car is bouncy with the new springs is that the rebound valving of your shocks is insufficent to dampen the oscilation of your stiffer springs. This problem is compounded by the fact that the springs are 2" shorter than stock. Because the springs are 2" shorter, that means that the shock is starting it's range of motion 2" away from the spot where it's optimal dampening range would be.

Just a personal side note: I can't believe Honda did not put antilock breaking on the 2000 Civic Si. I was number 4 in a 5 car pile-up. I skid about 15 feet from around 50 mph and got smashed in the back by a 1 ton truck. For a while the car had the worst breaking record of any car tested. 165' from 60mph. Sorry for getting a little off topic, just going down memory lane.

because ABS costs money, and a civic si that costs anymore than what it did would had fallen into the integra pricerange. if you had wanted a "civic" with ABS, you shoulda opted for the integra gsr.

First off 2" drop on factory shocks and struts is not a very smart thing. As mentioned before good aftermarket strut combo should cure your problem. Remember the cheap way might work for a while, but will cost you in the end.

I would come up to stop signs on a damp road at 5 mph and skid a foot.
