Chrysler to sell Viper brand off
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...27-viper_N.htm
Chrysler states the sale will allow them to focus on "key products." Hopefully it will ended up in good hands. I wonder any other manufacturers have similar plans?

You know I just don't get, Chrysler has been struggling for a good long while, but every once in a while they make a car that is really popular. Back int he day it was the K car, today it's the lx platform cars, yet everytime they show signs of competency, they go and make the rest of their cars- avenger, sebring, caliber, etc etc.
I mean, we tell them what works, like the neon srt4 for example, they flew off the lots in all their rental car glory. So what do they do, let's make it bigger, less sporting (I kow the car is still capable, but now it has an inherent handicap with its taller profile), etc. Their successful cars weren't from reinventing the wheel, I mean who woulda thought that a sedan based on the well balanced previous gen E class platform with drop dead good looks was going to sell well? The magnum initially did well too.
Then they make arguably the best american sportscar ever which is finally bringing some good press back to them... and now they want to sell it off.
I'll defend ford and gm to the last day, but man, chrysler seriously needs to retool or just die, it's going to be come a burden on the taxpayer for a company that no one is running.
