You have to realize that the S2K, along with the Mazda Miata & RX8 have the best/shortest shifters on the planet. No car can compare once you get out of the S2K. Not worse, just different. I got the Richard Paul Axialflow short shifter on my car (they make one for the S2K as well), and have driven M3's, 911's, etc and none of them come close to the short throws on my car.

Yeah the Porsche shifter is crap. But that alone wouldn't deter me from considering the car. Especially if you think the inside and outside is perfect.

Besides, you could always get a short shifter kit to make it better if not S2000 like.

So wait -- you sat in a car and then decided to come on this forum and tell us all it is too loose. Someone trying to justify something? Ya think?

For 50k you get very little in return. Its light handles on rails and aluminum but the shift linkage is crap. The engine is peakier than the S2000s and it doesnt even pretend to be a real car.
That is just plain ****ing stupid. You have obviously never driven the car. Peakier? LOL, shut up.

hmmmm....yeah...I've never judged how a car's shifter feels when the car isn't even running. My Rx-7's shifter had a really nice feel to it (very similar to 1st. gen Miata's). But at a stand still, engine not running, it felt like crap.
