from what i have read, i hope you don't plan on putting more than 400hp to the rear wheels. after that the block splits in half!
Is that the Ford block you're talking about?

If so, that information is very much in error........

i work with quite a few mustang guys. one of them is in 10 second territory, and another is building up what should be a 9 second door slammer (i believe he plans on running over 30 lbs. of boost with a supercharger.)

both of them have told me about this weakness, along with a few other car buddies. then again i really don't know that much about 302's, so what i have said maybe untrue. like i said earlier, i was going on what i have read and what i have been told, not what i have experienced first hand.

OK, I can see catastrophic failures in mega-boost drag situations.......anything goes when you pump nearly 30lbs. of boost into anything, that's for sure. In high output, normally aspirated road racing trim, the only unfixable thing wrong with that block is that its too heavy.

That being said, I imagine those guys would be really interested in this:

Using the 9.5" deck height and a 4.25" stroke crank, this small block ford displaces 460c.i.

That's right, 7.5L from a small block Ford.

Don't tell me pushrods are low tech........heh heh.

So you are pretty much set on getting rid of the S2000 and WRX?

My 2 pence:
Fox-body 'Stang
82-92 F-body
first-gen RX-7 (pretty easy to swap V8s into, and light as hell)
82-92 Supras
80s Z31 300ZXs, or very early Z32 300ZX

If you might want to try more exotic and challenging projects ( ):
J30 with VG30DETT swapped in
3G RX-7 with LS1/2 or F20c et al

Peace, i havent heard much yet.. My Dad said though if it happens ill only have to get rid of the WRX..b/c he knows i wont get rid of my S2k if it came down to just getting rid of one.

But with getting rid of that i need a cheap car for winter/beater.. so i was thinking why not make somethin nuts. I dunno, i like the 5.0 mustang, or even an older body mustang gt.. like 93-98 or whatever.. the smooth looking ones. OR a 5.9 jeep grand cherokee lol - i used to have one and ive seen people on car domain put SC on them.. i dunno yet..

5.0 mustangs are cheap and cheap parts. Miata's are very good ones as well.

You could if lucky get a Vette, but you gotta look around a lot for it (my friend got a C5 for 15k).

miata or 5.0 mustang, see if you can find the year where they put the 5.0 into the mid 90's body style
