Nice article.

Which begs the question: Why not get an Ariel Atom or a Lotus Exige and have the same racecar experience, but at lower speeds (? safer).

I have a lot of fun in the S2000, I can pull through a few gears and still not be violating the speed limit (hwy). If I had a Corvette, I could get to those speeds in ONE gear. Yes it's faster, but what fun is that?

The guy in the Lambo saying:

What fun is it to drive a car that's not moving?

Really interesting. Thanks for finding.

Doesn't really sound like there's a trend. Accidents aren't up more than sales of big HP cars or exotics, at least from the few stats in there.

What I really (re)learned is that there's a lot of poeple with a lot of money out there, buying cars I want to have.

I honestly wonder what those 6 Enzos being destroyed does to the value of the other ones...

I would think it remains the same or goes up, now that fewer are available. Kinda like the F40. I think the F40 will remain unattainable into eternity, even after ICEs disappear and everyone is driving solar electric hybrids or whatever.

I have it on good authority that the New NSX will be solar electric hybrid...

Thanks for the linkie. Seems like verbal rubbernecking at exotic cars. How many Honda Civics get wrecked? But nobody cares.

In the sport exotics I see two different reasons. One is the owners who really can't handle the power. They bought the car as a fashion accessory. The second reason would be enthusiasts like you and me. We'd drive the car harder than normal drivers and take more chances.

Also, they said the miles are being wracked up on these exotics at a rate never seen before. More accidents are bound to happen. Exotic and Super cars are getting to where they are close or as reliable as normal cars. Seems like wrecks are part of the deal.
