i hate old stuff....
Is your neck sore from holding your nose up so high?

Pity really, you mind is completely blocked to the joys of something like this. There is a purity and a simplicity to it that makes it such a pure sports car.

50-years old

And I can make it even worse, this is the 1st thing I ever drove...

1953 Chevrolet 3100

I'm so old I bet a young kid like you could not even start it today
It took the following, put key in ignition and turn to on, pull out the clutch, pump the gas a few times, depress the clutch, do something like heal toe between the foot starter peg and the gas pedal and push in the starter pedal.

HHH, I could have started that truck, it's not but three years older than me!

The Jag the year I was hatched.

The year I started driving.

Those were some sweet cars. I vote the Miura as one of the best looking cars ever built.

CG, I remember having the damndest time starting the Chevy 3100, of course though a big part of the problem is a kid of 13 does not really have as long of a foot as one needed to really do the job well.

Now with the examples you posted, I could agree with Egan! And by the way, I hear ya on the Miura. It was my very 1st Matchbox car, and ohhh, how I loved it. In fact I have told people that that toy was what I believe infected me with the car bug. The design of the Miura is as appealing to me today as it was some 40 years ago when I was just a child.

The "super sports GT" cars from Japan 89-99 are my favorite road cars. There will never be cars built like them again. At the time, the main mission of the manufacter was to build a sports car that could, match or often out-perform offerings from Europe and USA, often at half the price, with unmathced reliability, comfort, and fuel economy.

The philisophy of many of those cars was to create a sports car that was a joy to drive on a circuit or winding roads as well as in rush our traffic or long road trips.

Some of the cars from that era have some special pedigree behind them: The NSX being road and track tested with final suspension input from none other than triple F1 world chamion Ayrton Senna.

I owned a 94 VR4 for 6 years and literaly did everything in it...
Drove 300 miles home in a real midwest snow storm on ZR rated tires.
Drove to Chicago and observed a 600 mile cruising range- -20gal tank = 30mpg lol.
Drove multiple road course events and often passed cars like C4S 911, E36 M3 despite its 3700lb. weight.
Drag raced 2 seperate EVO's and won every time (with 120,000 miles on the clock)
Never had any major mechanical failure - sold at 130,000 miles with original turbos, trans, transfer case, diff, engine, etc.

The RX7 and Supra were some of the first sports cars to make sub 5 second 0-60 times common place in magazine tests. The Z32 won C&D's sports car comparo's like almost every year it was imported here. The NSX incorporated several patented technologies like: aluminum chassis joints, fiber reinforced metal cylender liners, and is the only production car in the world to use a "toe compliance pivot link" on its front suspension.

Its funny whatching comercials for SUV's toughting 20mpg highway!

No one has said MIATA.

No Miata = No S2000, no sports car revival.

Best enthusiast car of the last 30 years. IMHO.

No mention of the E30 M3. I've really been considering picking one up, they just look cool. The last of them was in 91.
