Cars from the 1990s
Am I the only one that loves the new cars like:
Cayman, Z06, STI, GTO but still have a fond affection for the older 1991-1999 cars:
300 ZX TT
RX-7 TT
Supra TT
NSX
3000 GT VR4 (damn that is a long name for a car)
Skyline GTR V-spec
In reality I would rather have those cars in my garage than any of the newer ones above with the exception of the Z06 and really I'd choose the Skyline (R33 or R34)and the right color (Black, QS, RSP) Supra over the Z06.
Am I alone here?

I love the RX-7m 300ZX, and MR2 from the eraly 90's. Owning an RX-7 before turned me off to owning another simply for reliability, but I might buy a 300ZX some day if I can find one in good shape. I think the 300ZX is a better car than the 350Z.

Not many 1990's cars I would like:
A good running RX7 with a Chevy V8
Maybe another gmc typhoon (not sure why...i am part puerto rican)
Maybe a late 80's stripped out mustang with a nice big crate motor stuff into it.... 2500lbs and 400+ NA HP!
No real love for supra, 300ZX's, skylines, 3000 GTVR4's, etc..... Stock vs Stock an Evo can keep or beat all of them.
edit - a F40 would obviously be a nice 1990's car to have.

Also I do have a 03 S2000 so may keep that a while to kind of remember the good old days, the Supra, RX-7, 300Z, and NSX are all older (longer in the tooth) than the S2000.
I would consider a e36 as oldies but goodies along with any old Porsche but probably won't buy such old cars.

And yes, I'm thrilled to have this parked in my garage, although in all honesty, it is not there much because it's my daily driver in the summer, because it is just soooooo much fun, 17 years after.

I like those cars you listed, but would far pefer a new ride. I drove a NSX and Supra (not a lot, but test drove) and was not blown away like I was by a 2004 Z06. IMO the C5 Z06 is the high water mark for used cars. I'd not go for a 3700 lb Supra or a weak NSX when I can get a C5 Z06.

Damn man, that CRX is clean as hell, looks brand spanking new!
It's my baby... 101,000 miles, driven in the winter 1 year, and worked for 10 years as my track car. It's really a wolf in sheep's clothing, it looks rather stock, but ohhhh, it is so not!

Yeah, there are so many great cars from the 1990s and and one from the 80s
Yeah, the newer ones may be faster but I just think the older ones have more character and appeal. I think maybe b/c I was so in awe (and younger) when they came out that I just still like them.
My Dad had a CRX for a beater and it was a GREAT car! I wished he hadn't sold it.
I forgot about the MR2 that was a great little car too.
Syclone and Typhoons were badass too.!!

I love those cars, those were the cars to have. I find myself longing to own one, but everytime I get close to one and see how it's all beat up, it really is a downer. A 300zx was my first love, but working on one is a pain and a half... and at their age you're going to be working on them a lot. An RX7 is a fantastic car, but there's the reliability issues. The 3SIs are great cars, but kinda heavy for my taste. And the Supra just costs too much thanks to the F&F tax. Hard to find a good condition 2nd gen DSM.
I will always love these cars, but as far as buying one right at the moment, jsut doesn't make complete sense... maybe one day though. A silver 300ZX twin turbo with a greddy front bumper and JWT ECU... ahhh.
