Actually the Camaro is a volume car, in Australia. There it is sold as the Commodore on the same chassis, here as the G8, and now as a two door version in the Camaro. For GM as a whole it is a medium level production car, in North America it is only intended as a niche car. It will serve, however, to get people into the showroom to look at other cars...................maybe.

The V6 starts at $22995, has 300 hp and gets 27 mpg highway.
The V8 starts at $30995, has 433 hp and gets 23 mpg highway. I think the SS will be 3800 pounds.

Between this and the new Z, I am taking this. Nobody seems to be making cars any lighter, so I would get the one with more power. And that 23 estimated mpg, with the AFM, and the notoriously tall GM 6th gear, real world highway mileage should be higher.

This car is a day late, a $ short. Going retro was cool about 10 years ago. Think Jag S type, Z8 etc etc. Its a bit late to try it.
This isn't going to save GM, nothing will. Maybe if UAW workers start working for $15/hr....

Wow, these sales comments are laughable. This site is ridiculous when it comes to American backed product, it's turning into HT.

Looks great but is heavy even for a muscle car (mustang gts weigh south of 3500lbs). I'd hit it, but the cost is too great for my wallet.

And I think the OP was being a little sarcastic about a niche car saving GM, I could be wrong.
