I can't believe there are that many suckers out there, with money to just throw away, willing to pay $40k+ for a Camaro.
If we were talking about the old Camaro, yes, you had to be a certified lunatic.

Once thoroughly tested, if this new one has the fit & finish, performance, handling and refinement of a good import (which Motor Trend claims it can compete against, instead of just the Mustang and Challenger) then why not? I'm all for bowtie bashing when it was their usual run-of-the-mill crap, but if they actually turn out a solid product, you'd have to be an ignorant fanboy to just discard it.

I personally wouldn't pay over $40k, but $35k for a nicely optioned SS sounds reasonable to me (if the car is all it has been hyped up to be).

Plus this talk of the Z28 confuses me. The last generation, SS > Z28. Now it sounds (if it happens) that Z28 > SS?

As noted, one car is not going to save GM. They have a lot of work to do in a lot of areas.

However, you really have to have a serious case of cranial/rectal inversion to say that a mid-$30k sport coupe with 400+ horsepower, decent handling, good looks (eye of the beholder) that should get over 20 mpg in daily driving isn't a good deal.

You don't have to buy it. But is it a deal? You bet.

You act like a gimp using the word faggot in your posts. It speaks volumes.

Please don't try and pretend to play on some kind of next level pseudo-intellectual bullshit. It's not a good look for you.

even more amazing are all those faggots out there willing to spend almost $40k on some stupid 4 cylinder honda convertible
What was the point in this post ? Even with all the price gouging in 2000 I don't think anyone paid 40K on an S2000 when they 1st hit the US

The 1st one I saw had all the options and a "adjusted market value" mark-up and it was 38K

Yeah and like the Mustang, most of them will be anemic cars that "look fast."

Go to the Dodge website (if you can stand it) and price a base Challenger then price the top 'o the line "fast" one.

Are you suggesting they're not fast? The Mustang GT goes 0-60 in the very low 5s and does 13s in the quartermile, with a full power leather interior weighing just south of 3500lbs, I'd say it backs its looks. Not to mention that most normal drivers can achieve these numbers on a consistent level whereas the S has to be completely wrung out to get close to those numbers. Does it all for well under 30K fully loaded from the dealership before haggling.
I already see the "it's not all about the straightline" or "but it still can't handle" and therefore "the car is not fast." I'm just simply addressing somone suggesting that the mustang is all show with no go, it has the go to back up its skin, and where did anyone every say that it was suppose to beat miatas at autocrosses? Just like where does it say that the S2000 is the king of the dragstrip?
