:-P.... it'd be my learning car for stick shift.. so its kinda hard to test drive. Unless the salesmen are real nice about it.. which i seirously doubt.

Don't worry about that. You can always ask the salesman if he can just take you on a test ride, just so you can see if you like the car. If the salesman gives you shit, you can always go with the folks...that usually does the trick. When a salesman sees a young guy, he thinks "joy ride", but then he sees older folks, he thinks "cha-ching $$$".
I learned stick on the S2000, and so did a lot of other folks. You'll be fine.
Also, salespeople are pretty accustomed to people who don't currently drive stick but want to buy a stick.
I haven't driven the Z4, so I can't comment on that. It looks like a fine car, though. I have driven the 350Z, however, and I like the S2000 a lot better - it's more exciting and feels more like a raw sports car, IMO.

It doesn't take long to learn how to drive a stick, about 2-3hrs. The trick is learning to drive it WELL.
I remember when I first got a stick a few years ago, I had just learned how to drive it from a friend with a 2hr. quick lesson in his Integra. I went to test drive and stalled 2x, the salesman was cool and just told me to give it more gas. I think that if you look like a serious buyer there is no reason why they wouldn't let you take it out for a drive, but try to learn a little first so you don't stall too much.

If it's your money and your parents really don't want you buying used you could use that as a tool to get them to cough up some bucks to bolster your budget. Just a thought
