Right now i drive an 03 accord coupe lx v6. And since last month, i've been having a lot of problems with it. (i even had my transmission replaced). Now.. i've had enough of the problems with the accord... i'd say its a pure lemon.. and a very sour one too. I'm now officially in the market for a new car.
Now i'm not really sure which car to get. Since my girlfriend just got her own car, and my bro is getting his own soon.... so.. now i can get a 2 seater :-). My budget is around 30 thousand dollars.
Please don't bash me.. i just want good honest opinions.
a) 350z convertible
b) s2000
c) bmw z4
i know this is a s2000 forum, but then i've been here for a while, and i think everyone here are a lot more mature than other forums, so i rather listen to what the people want to say here.
And also.. i'm kinda biased, because i always wanted a s2000, but then, the new 350z convertible and bmw z4 both seem to be very good contenders around the same price range.

Well the Z4 is out of that price range the 2.5L starts at $33.8K go to www.BMWusa.com you can build a 2.5 up to $45K and the 3.0L starts at $41K and goes up from there. They charge you for leather, metalic paint, HID lights, all of which are standard on the S2000. Also I wouldn't touch the 2.5L. I'm a former Z3 owner and had the 1.9L and regretted it every day. Also my Z3 was a near lemon. They are built in south carolina so don't expect the same craftmanship as a German built car.
Boxster/Boxster S is still the German roadster to beat but it also is significantly more money than the S2000.
350Z vert is too heavy IMO, it's got beat by the S2000 in every review so far even though it's a much newer design.
I'd say if you like the S2000 you won't find a more fun car for the money. I've had mine for 10 months and have had more fun than any other car.

The S is the way to go in my opinion. 350's are starting to be like camaro's and mustang's with how many I see. They are still really sweet but the S is a much rarer car. I really like the Z4's but I don't know much about them. Go test drive all of them and see which one you like best. I'm sure they all have there good qualities as with there bad.

you see.. i would LOVE to go test drive them all.. but theres a problem.
I don't know how to drive stick!
:-P.... it'd be my learning car for stick shift.. so its kinda hard to test drive. Unless the salesmen are real nice about it.. which i seirously doubt.

Considering that only one of those cars can be had for 30k and the other 2 are 40 k, you only have one choice.
Of course if I had 45 k to spend and still had your choices I'd get an S hands down. I'd probably use some of the extra money to put a supercharger and wheels on the S after that.

i don't really want to start a 04 vs 00~03 war, but.. should i wait for the 04? or get the 03?
I don't really have to worry about the mark up, i know the manager of the dealership i go to. And they owe me one for selling me lemon anyways.. I'll fight them to the end of the earth until they give me a drive out price thats equal or less than the invoice.

just find someone you know with a crapy car with a manual and learn on that. learning on a car with all that power could present some problems I would imagine.
