Couple grand more for the S80 T6, I was reading up on those as well, but I seem to see a lot more reliability problems with them then the S60 or the Q

With the Volvo, these seats I hear all about, standard? or are they part of a package, premium? sport?

The standard seats are amazing. Not sure if they make any derivations like sport, premium etc. I was sold after I had one -- an S70 as a rental a few years back -- I kept that car for 4 months.

I can vouch for the S70's seats. My friend has one and it's seats are the most comfortable of any car I've been in.

Volvo is fine, but reliability generally isn't great, and the styling isn't up to par imho.

If I was you I'd look at the new Lexus IS250 AWD, 37mpg highway, $40k starting Cdn and Toyota/Lexus quality plus you get a new car warranty.

And it is a gorgeous car.....

you goof....

get a used 525 or 530 and call it a day.

you'll miss the BMW-ness of your X5.

or, you can always buy my 740....it doesn't address your fuel issue though...

Besides, Audis are not very reliable (we have an A4 3.0 that's been in the shop way too many times.)
I also have a 2003 A4 3.0.
Mine has been in the shop a grand total of 2 times.

1) A/C Compressor Failed - system flushed and replaced
2) A/C Compressor Failes Again - my guess was that the first replacement wasn't careful enough.

That second replacement was almost 2 years ago. No other problems.

It is not that fuel economic (well it is compared to BMW's 4.4V8) the 1.8T is very fuel economic.

I'd say go for a 1.8T Avant if you want a combination of Space, Fuel economy, and Audi interior.

1. BMW 530i Premium/Sport
2. BMW 330i Premium/Sport
3. Acura RL
4. Acura TL
5. Audi A4 or A6
6. Acura MDX

Those are the cars I would look at if it was up to me. I own a BMW and I think I would miss the smoothness of the BMW but the others are nice too.

Next June the Acura RDX comes out, and an all new MDX in the Fall.
