I like the glossy photos but for hot-and-fresh I tend to click on Autoblog.

There's a lot more accountability and therefore reasons to get it right in a published mag vs. the Internet versions.

I have found many more misteaks online than in print. Online seems rushed to press.

Also it's too hard to flip thru and look for an article on the internet.

I hate all the car mags websites. If it's not piles and piles of ads that make it hard to find something then it seems everything is buried 5-6 layers deep. They simply aren't as easy to use as a magazine.

[QUOTE=bigmass,Jan 26 2007, 01:16 PM] Evo is probably the best car mag. Reviews cars you WANT to see reviewed. Good tests and good journalistic writing with lots of real opinions unlike the American mags which are afraid of offending sponsors and advertisers. Also, their reviews are not rehashes of a car's brochure like a lot of American car mags. As well, it

Motor Trend's website is horrible. C&D and R&T aren't as bad, but they all used to be a lot more user friendly. Now, they're burying everything under ads. Seems like you can't just browse as easily any more.

Agreed, that where I do all my car mag reading.

I really enjoy C&D, and EVO is still the best.

IMO the internet is good for scoops on the latest spyshots, but is lacking in the quality that the car mags offer.

Ive scaled down to just Autoweek these days, and the only reason I keep it is for the crapper too. I pay for the magazine which tells me to get more info at thier website, which seems to have more info than is in the magazine Im paying for!

And I think it's a stroke of brilliance for them to have the magazines have the content first, followed by online. I'll see topics about comparos posted... that make me want to go check out the hard copy mags. But if I was looking for a past review, I'd never go to the library to look it up so it should be available online at that time if they want my readership.

I think you guys are not getting my point. 20 years ago my "car $$$$$$"(as my wife calls it) came from Motorweek and C&D. Today, You have so many car shows, websites and mags that its information overload.

My question is where do you get your car info from? You may still read C&D but do you get your info/stats/specs from S2ki.com, or Autoweek online or edmunds or windingroad.com? I know we all will continue to order car mags but the next gen might not be.

IMO Autoweek has gone stupid of late, and C&D unreadable in format. They no longer command my money regardless.

Honestly, subscriptions are so cheap these days you might as well get it. You can get R&T or C/D for like $9, plus if you get more than one subscription (for another person) it's an additional $5. My mom bought C/D for my grandfather for Christmas, and added me for $5; it would have been stupid NOT to.
