anybody know, not speculate but know, what happened to that rx-7? did they just forget to torque the lug nuts?

I knew several people that were at the event that day. If I remember correctly he had just purchased the wheel /tire combo and put them on just before pulling up to the starting line. The lug nuts provided were put on and torqued but were the wrong ones and didn't seat well with the rims. As soon as he started moving they spun off. It was not believed to have been anything he did wrong or could have anticipated.

it was the lug nuts. they were sold the wrong size, very close size but wrong. they threaded up and tightened up correctly but where sadly too big and all came off
