I'm still surprised how slow the RSX was in the 1/4.. stock they do high 14's no? Even with a granny launch this car should be in mid to low 14's..

Nice article.

Really? My car does 15.1.. I would have thought with less weight and six speeds the RSX-S would be faster?

I agree with ppl questioning the money issue. I know I could do more with less.

Same here in Texas. Last summer, I was running mid 15's in my RSX-S with intake. I thought my car was a dud (or possibly the driver ), but when winter approached, my times dropped into the 14s with the same setup.

Too bad they didn't have Celicas (don't know why). I really would like to have seen how a XS Engineering Turbo Celica would have done against some of these Acuras/Fords SVT's.

i realize low 13's are pretty fast but can somebody shed some light on this for me? a stock s2000 runs low 14's stock POSSIBLY a high 13 under the right circumstances... but with 330 rwhp or lets say 300 rwhp... why arent people in the 12's? id think that you add 100-130 rwhp and gain only a second or less on your 1/4 mile time... my ?? is why? why arent our cars any faster with f/i

Conditions have a huge factor. If it is a place like LA county raceway it could be a 100 degrees, no traction asphalt, high humidity. In the test you had turboed RSX's running very similar times (a little less) to what the run stock (mid-low 14's) with 100 more hp. In this case I think SC'ed S2000 is a legit 13 flat, high 12 car, but ran a 13.3. It's different when car magazines run in perfect conditions, with a pro driver. Also at some point you can only stuff so much rubber under the fenders, so traction would be a huge issue. A 200 whp car might get away with regular tires, but when you get to 250+ whp, or FWD (RSX's) it is easy to break loose the tires unless you have race compound tires, or slicks.
