Random thoughts:

I had a 300D (rebel digital) on loan for a week and couldn't live with its haphazard focusing. I wanted to throw it out of a window. It was like the BMW 325Ci, nice basics but you really want the 330 or the M3. Both are excellent high ISO low light cameras however.

I'm loving the 1D and preordered for the 1D Mk. II.

The new prosumer 8MP cameras (Sony F828 included) seem to suffer from all sorts of purple fringing and high noise effects.

The Nikon D70 looks like the camera that the Canon Rebel should have been. It's basically an improved D100 for half the price.

The biggest problem I have with the 300D and the 10D is the strong anti-aliasing filter on top of the sensor. This reduces noise and imaging artifacts, but also softens the picture. Combine that with questionable focusing systems and you end up with lots of images that look great (smooth, clean) but not very sharp. If you're an old-school raytracing junkie like me who craves pixel-level sharpness, the low-end Canons irritate.

My 4MP 1D with its weak AA filter actually produces sharper images with more detail than my 6MP 10D did.

SLR vs. Digicam: Primary advantage to DSLRs these days are bigger sensor + bigger glass = less noisy high ISO photography = far more capable in low light and action situations. In bright fixed shots (i.e. a building outdoors) the difference narrows considerably. Con is cost and size. You can't be discreet with a large SLR.

"Do I need a new camera?": Fancy equipment doesn't make for a fancy photograph. If you check out dpreview.com every now and then you'll see someone with a POS Kodak or other compact digicam post pics that the Canon 1Ds guys couldn't touch and then you realize that it's the photographer, not the equipment, that creates great pictures.

Thanks for the compliments on the pics guys.

The pictures have been modified with in photoshop, but nothing major, only levels, didnt have much time taking those pics as i was late for my flight(it was shown at the Lebanon International Airport) and no tripod. Those were all the pics i got before they told me it wasnt allowed to photograph, thanks again, im still a beginner tho.

EDIT;
The front overall picture and the back picture are the ones im most satisfied with, mostly the first tho.

Cheers,
Mario

After playing around with levels, only levels.

As you can see when you make the image brighter you get more grain, to get it smoother i use Neat Image, its a great application, this is how it looks like after i used Neat Image.

Warning, These images are 1-3mb big so you better not have 56k if you like to see them.
