pfb, what setting did you have when you took the yellow lambo? It appears somewhat dull in finish?

Here's a link to the review of the new just-about-to-hit-the-market Nikon D70.

While I love my 10D, I'd likely go for the D70 over a 300D.

Canon digital cameras are the cream of the crop IMO.

I bought a G3 last fall and it is far and away one of the top five digicams under $1000, as far as value and quality are concerned. The 300D is a very nice piece for sure. I'm waiting to see what happens with the D70.

The one thing Canon really needs to work on improving is there higher ISO speed noise though.

I hear the Pentax *ist D is also a very nice SLR, and they go for between $1300 and $1700 with the basic lens.

My D Rebel has very low noise at even 400 ISO. The thing I think it needs improvement on is the FEC. It's very bad.

I guess the noise primarily affects the G-series and lesser Canon digicams. I know when I use ISO 400 on my G3, the pics look like I applied a 50% opacity noise to the image.

I mostly use ISO 50 or 100 because I have to worry about noise either not at all, or extremely little.

The SLR Canons are better most likely due to the larger CCD.

I bought a Sony DSC-F717 last year and it is simply amazing, friggen things shoots laser beams (literally)! Nothing can compare to it in different lighting conditions. I can take a picture in a completely dark room and it will come out looking as if you were in sunlight. They have the new Sony out now that blows the others away with (if I remember) 8 mega pixels ($1000). Its also great for those of you with Sony Camcorders because you can share the batteries and components. The battery life on the smaller battery is just friggen amazing, It never runs out! If I had my web server up, I would post some of the "artsy" pictures that I have taken. But I cant
