I currently have a Canon 1Ds and a Canon 10D, if you can, spend the extra money on the 10D because Canon locked alot of the futures in the 300D (still a excellent cam for the $) Like said above the magnesium body really helps, or you can wait for the new Canon 1D Mark II with a new 8 megapixel censor! Thats going to be one hot camera, perfect for action photography!

Im still waiting for digital backs to go down in price for my medium format camera, the cheapest is still $8000!

I was soooo tempted to pick one of these up about a month ago, but picked up a used e20n olympus. Great alternative for those looking to save some $$$

I love camera debates and questions...

In college I took a year+ of Pro Photo and have a rather solid background in this area. Because I have been shooting for so long my SLR is a Canon film camera with several lenses. My 1st digital camera is a Kodak LS443, 4MP and 3X optical and I can not believe how many shots I have run through that thing.

Just before Christmas I went into the photo store to look at the Canon digital back because I figured it would be a good upgrade because although the focal lengths would be different, I could use my film Canon EOS Ultrasonic lenses.

To make a long story short I have yet to make a camera purchase. What I discovered about myself is that I like my little point and shoot digital camera, because it is small. When I go places it is around my neck and under my shirt, I have it with me almost all the time. I use it a lot because I have it. My big SLR and lenses sit home and don't go out until I am specifically going out to take photos.

I have had many, many, many years of solid performance from my Canon equipment. Although the digital camera has found a place in my life, I still find it easy to shoot with my film EOS and have my negs scanned and written to CD.

Canon EOS, 35mm, scanned to CD

Triple-H:
If you buy the Canon 1Ds your focal lengths stays the same with your lenses, its a full sensor DSLR, but I like how I can use my Canon 300L F4 lense with my 10D body and with the crop factor of the 10D its a 430mm lense! Add a 2X converter and im around 800mm! I love the 10D for wildlife photography

Grab the f1.8 50mm prime lens. Great lens for the price you pay, ~$70 for a fast sharp lens IMO

I've got the starter, the 75-300, the 17-45 (I think, it's a wide angle), and the 50mm as well as the Sigma Super DG flash. It's not much, but it's still a pain in the butt to carry all that stuff around. I need to get a smaller camera to carry with me for convenience also.

pfb, what setting did you have when you took the yellow lambo? It appears somewhat dull in finish?
