Thats a pretty nice camera, although a bit too much for what I need 5 megapix+ is more than enough for my uses.

That's the camera I currently use. I love it

Too bad I haven't taken any car pics since getting it. Here's a pic of Times Square and the Mirage at Vegas when I was at SEMA last yr.

The 300D is nice, but if you have another $500 laying around, I would go for the Canon 10D.

I started with a 300D (aka Digital Rebel in the US) and moved to a 10D.

The 10D handles slightly better, but what I like best is the magnesium body vs. the 300D/Digital Rebel plastic body.

17-40 F4 L, 70-200 F4 L, 50 1.8 II round out the package...

If you don't already have canon lenses, and don't mind waiting another few months, the Nikon D70 is supposed to be even nicer than the 300D for sub $1,000.
