Cardude - I'm interested in learning who you talked to... My insurance right now is $2500 a year for the S2000 and the Integra, which replacement values do not exceed $35000 combined...
I did finally find a company that will insure it but for a price that is unacceptable to me, considering the car will only be driven less than 2000 miles a year...

Grundy will not insure my S2000, even though I have it as a "pleasure" vehicle. The reason they insure my Mustang is due to collectability. The tangerine color was only made in 1996, with less than 800 produced and with the additional modifications the car is only one of four (produced by Scottsdale Power Products). That is the primary reason they insure the Mustang.
They will insure exotics (Corvettes, Ferraris, Lamborgines, etc...) no problems, I wonder if we (S2KI Members) petitioned them they would change their minds.....

Scot / Cardude - if you guys can post any of your sources, that would be very helpful...
When I was entertaining buying a '99 NSX last year, I could not get a policy under $4100 a year then... (from Geico, Eerie, Progressive, CNA, State Farm, and a couple others that I inquired with... with no points or anything negative on my record...).
thanks,
- Rick

http://www.Grundy.com
Go to the website and just call them at the number on the bottom of their homepage.

....others won't touch it (based on $170,000...). It probably doesn't help that I am a male, still under the age of 30, and not yet married either...
Oh yeah...don't get married.....or you'll be selling that Ferrari faster than you can say "Pasta!"

My wife-to-be and I have managed to survive the tech market the past couple years (in my profession, not the stock market)... and I always made it clear to my wife-to-be that I will own my car of my dreams before I am 50 years old... just as long as I am okay with her growing her shoe and purse collection to a point where they require their own zip code...

My insurance is through "ERIE INSURANCE" which is all over Pennsylvania... I am not sure if they are in Maryland or not.
I got a quote on a used Viper at less than $1k and also a NSX at about $1100 a few years back.... a new M3 was going to be about $1400 though.... I guess due to the numbers out there and idiots wrecking them.
