You'd better ask a lawyer. It's a very grey area.

IIRC it has something to do with claiming you were in an "unstable state of mind" when you made the decision.

[QUOTE=Slithr,Feb 20 2009, 12:14 PM]My understanding is that as a general rule, it's yours.

You have 3 days to back out of ANY contract.
Come again?

It has nothing to do with where it was signed.
Oh, and contract law does vary from state to state.

If I remember correctly from Business Law, it is only on contracts that are signed from door-to-door sales. :shrugs:

Wth so they give you three days to back out any contract?

Isn't that kinda absurd? I mean if you're going to sign that contract, shouldn't you be stuck with it?

I pray to god I won't kill someone if I sold a car to someone and they came back on the 71st out asking for their money back.

What if you bought the car, drove it for 200 miles, and then decide to return it?

That is true, I meant it doesn't matter if they come to your house, or if you go to their store to buy something.

It also appears that the 3 day cooling off period is not a federal statute. So check the laws in your state.

I think it all matters if the dealership wants to take it back, this just happened last week when a kid bought a FIT but the next day brought it back cause of his parents got mad at him for doing it... crazy stuff
