some of the cars mentioned here are legit.
the acura legand was sold as a "daewoo arcadia". It was basically bought out by daewoo towards the end of its production.
kia became the 3rd owner of the lotus elan, and i can't remember who bought it from lotus first. thus it became the kia elan.
the kia above, which is called the amanti can be seen here http://www.kia.com/041703.shtml

(kia could not afford production process of elan's al. body, by the way.)
this one's a total rip- off tho.
many korean internet car forums are going crazy (very angry!) about this issue right now,
especially after kia decided to sell the car for sure, even in the us for something above $30000.

That reminds me of the watches you see in the airport, SUPERSTYLES "ROLEX" VERSION 2.2, the ugliest looking knock offs and they don't even say the brand they are trying to knock off on it.

A lot of manufacturers ?borrow? styling cues from one another. Unless the manufacturer actually had a copyright on it, it would be a little hard to get any damages. The Lincoln LS looks like BMW. If you look at the computer world, Apple has started putting a copyright on its designs. The Dell cases look and open much like the Apple cases. While copying someone else?s design shows lack of ingenuity, it is cheaper then making your own.
