He might have gotten some stickers with the chip. Don't forget to take those into account as well. Although I think you have to mount them in order to get the benefit........................................... ..................Had a girlfriend like that once.

Depends on what kind of chip he has... is it Cool Ranch or BBQ? Don't worry about his chip. Put 3-4 stickers on your car and you'll get just as much HP gain as his chip gave him.
Z4 3.0 would definitely be a better match.

Unless the "chip" that he's got is some form of forced induction or nitrous oxide (not hard to find out), you should make him put some money where his mouth is.
