Can a Mustang handle like a Porsche with some mods

Weight
Weight distribution
Mass centralization
Steering feel
Suspension design
These are all characteristics in the Porsche's favor that the Mustang can't match.
You can make a Mustang have similar grip (on a smooth surface) w/ wide/sticky enough tires, but it still won't handle as well.

Weight can be dropped? With what, an aluminum block?! Ford builds those machines out of lead.
Bet you'd drop to near porsche weight

Here's an interesting quote I read on another forum..... "In the past, we had a 500+ whp horsepower Cobra R with every suspension part that Griggs made for the car. We replaced it with a 250 rwhp E36 M3 LTW setup for BMW CCA HPrepared class and went out and ran faster laptimes. YMMV."
They can hang with a lot of cars tho. I remember Mustangs doing well in SCCA racing a few years ago.

Possible? Yeah. Has it been done? Yeah, on several occasions. More generally, can a mustang handle? Yeah, for what it is. Can a fwd honda outhandle a porsche? Yeah.
Also, what year mustang? Which bodystyle? Keep in mind that the 03-04 Cobra came with 390 underrated hp and an independent rear suspension, with a lot of money left over for mods vs. a porsche.
But hey, comparing a 50+K cars to <30K mass produced touring cars is always a fair comparison.

are you sure he wasn't referring to the Cayenne?
sure it can be done. I can make my RDX faster than a veyron too, with enough money. it might be more cost effective to just buy a veyron but you get my point.
