Hmm bullshit. The Chinese farmers have ruined that ability with every game I am aware of.
This Guy is neither chinese farmer or a company.

No, not bullshit, those chinese farmers you speak of are the kids playing 8 hours a day.
For instance with WOW at level 60 I can grind about 40 gold an hour -- which takes into account silver from humanoids (Azshara is a good place) and selling mage/rune plus the random green or blue. The most you are going to make is maybe an average of 50 gold/hr. So 400 gold a day -- 400 gold sells for about 30-40 bucks. Not really the goldmine you describe above.

But we all know you are the expert. I'll quit the game now and go open a lemonade stand to compensate for the additional income I am going to lose.

$80K? Easy......
Eat a couple pounds of horse vomit on Fear Factor and then tattoo "Golden Palace" on your testicles.
Did I guess right?

I can't see the link so I have no clue what game that guy is playing -- but most are similar to WoW and I can honestly tell you that given the chinese companies farming for gold you could not make enough money playing the game to earn more than a kid at macdonalds. Hell you can by a level 60 character for 500 bucks. It takes at least a month of constant play to hit that level.
Even if you did manage to get incredibly lucky and get a grape drop that sells on the AH for 800 gold -- that is only 80 bucks and it happens --- very rarely.

Heres a good one, I dont use it anymore so who cares.
Game = SWG, become an Imperial Combatant (eazy to do at lev 1 even). Hit lev 20, very easy to do with 3 hours of play. Go to Rebel Weapons Depot on Talus. Set up a macro. Run it for 10 hours while you work or sleep. You will wake up with 150,000 Imperial Factions points give or take a few thousand. Sell 25K Imperial Faction points to players in game for 8-10 million credits. Thats roughly 48-54 million credits depending on how many players are on and how much time you had to haggle with cheapskates. Sell the credits online for $20-25 bucks per 5 million or sell in bulk for less profit.
All of this is assuming they dont run a patch while you are AFK and you get booted off.
Sorry to hijack the htread with MMORPG tutorials.
And Steve, you are right in one sense, the days of getting a single drop, weapons, armor Etc. and selling for outrageous amounts of cash are gone. But the in game currency is still there if you find the ways to milk it.

Thanks guys for all the replies.
In conclusion, is it possible? Yes it is. But I think 90% of 11th graders cant/wont even come close to raising that kind of money in this time and age or in 2 years or 10 years ago.
