Default Calling all Drivetrain Techies

My 1999 K1500 Suburban has a drivetrain rattle that i can hear when im driving slow and slowing for a stop. It a rattling tin can sound that is dependant with speed. Is this a symptom of a bad u-joint?

Thanks for your help

can be

4wd?

get under the truck and check the u-joints for play/slop. grab the driveshaft and try to move it up/down. should not move. if it does, prob a u joint.

also have u-joints in front axle which could go bad.

usually though, it wouldnt necessarily make a tinny noise. however, it could be out of balance and shaking the truck enough, that the sheet metal is twisting and shaking
