Ok let me explain a little. First off, my friend posted this topic under my name to be a smart ass because he thought I was crazy getting rid of the S. Ignore the driving excitement part of the first post, because we all know that the S is the real king of that. The reason I decided to trade in the S is that I have been driving well over a thousand miles a week in the S, and that kind of seat time can become killer in the S. Listening to the engine drone for hours and cringing on every expansion joint from the track ready suspension was enough for me to end the love affair with the S. I will miss that car for some time, and someday I may buy another.
Now on to why the Pontiac. If you would have told me a week ago that I would have been driving a Pontiac instead of the S, I would have called you crazy. For the last month or so I have driven just about every new car made. My requirements were simply that I wanted something a little more livable than the S on long trips, but did not want to give up too much "sportiness". I drove everything from A4's to 350Z's to accords to Lincoln LS's. You name it, I drove it. Every car I drove seemed to be nice in it's own way but seemed lacking in other area's. Then I saw the new 04 GTP and thought to myself that it looked pretty damn good from the outside, what the hell I'll take it for a spin. That one drive was all that it took and I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. Not too hard, not too soft, plenty quick, aggressive looking. It seemed to be the best fit. So on Friday I went and traded in my 02 S2000 with 18,000 miles on it for this 04 Grand Prix GTP w/ Comp package and every available option. After putting almost a thousand miles on it this weekend I can say without a bit of doubt that this was the right choice for me. If you are looking for a similar car I think you owe it to yourself to go and drive one at least. Here are a couple pics I took after getting the car on Friday. I hope you all can forgive me for ditching the S, but I think after this explanation that you will probably understand.
Thank you to those who have posted positive comments!

Let's see some pictures of the HUD! I sat in the GTP Comp the other day while I was at the Pontiac dealership (I love my Vibe (Matrix clone) a lot) and was very impressed. A very solid step forward over the previous generation. Enjoy your new car!!

I absolutely love the HUD in my C5. I rarely look at the analog gauges, though I do use the big analog tach when I'm racing. I'd like to see if the HUD in the GTPC is any different.

The stats are 260hp and 280lb/ft of torque. 7 more lb/ft than your Evo.
