So I decided on the Z4. I really miss having a convertible. Also I have left over mods from my BMW 335 so I can crank up the power ASAP.

So as I type this, I'm sitting in the airport on the way to Cleveland to pick up my Z4.

I got a really good deal on a 2011 Sdrive35i twin turbo 7speed DCT with the Mtech sport package (aero, interior and wheels) and fully loaded with all other options.

Here are a few pics of it:

A much better choice than that ghastly yellow thing you were looking at. I'm not a fan of the Z4 styling but the BMW powertrain is great and I'll bet you'll love the convertible hardtop. I've had my SLK55 AMG for about 7 months and you get the best of both worlds with a hardtop. They are just much quieter than a soft top with the roof up. And despite all the whining from the 3 pedal purists here on S2Ki, the option of letting the transmission shift for itself is something I really appreciate in heavy stop-n-go traffic. It should be a great car to live with on a daily basis. Enjoy!
Thank you! The DCT was a compromise with the wife so she could drive it too. It's a 3rd car so it won't be a daily driver. Yesterday was a very long day consisting of flight delays and driving in stormy weather but it's a beautiful fall day here in Missouri.

On a side note, my temp tag blew off the car about 100 miles in to the journey. To avoid getting pulled over, I stole my friends license plate off his S2000 while he's out of town for work. Needless to say TheShocker (his name on S2ki) is not a big fan of fat chicks.

I've had the Z4 for two weeks now. I've done some mods:

Added a dual cone air intake, added a Juicebox 4 ecu piggy back, bumping up the HP from 300bhp to 420bhp (6 psi stock boost to 14.5 psi of mapped boost)
On the exterior, I tinted the windows, blacked out the grille and most noticeably added a set of 19" BBS wheels with 235/35 fronts and 275/30 rears. I'm putting in painted inserts where the front bumper's orange reflectors are (Halloween was last month man!).

Future plans: Install my left over charge pipe,BOV and meth kit from my old 335xi, install downpipes, FMIC, oil catch can and i might possibly lower it, not sure though, I have a pretty steep driveway and my old ISF that was lowered scraped every time.

Let me know what you think... I'm having a full professional shoot done this weekend.

Like it all except the black wheels. Murdered out look isn't for me, but I'll bet it's a lot more fun to drive now!

I still like it. I think of murdered out as matte black everything. I enjoy the black on black look though, It's a phase I'm going through I guess. My ISF was pretty "murdered out" if you will...

I would trust a BMW in my driveway more so than a Lotus... though the Lotus is unquestionably cooler.
