He has a well-optioned short version. He's happy with the deal and I think it's fine, so that's all that matters.
No. What matters is that your coworker is buying a 70K+ car. He's gonna shag a lot of vag with that kind of money.

Oh, and that's totally the beer talking.

the LS has big margins, and a lot of them have been selling at big discounts. what's surprising is how high demand is for the new Lexus LX570. even with the high gas prices, some dealers are asking 10K over sticker.

My boss wanted the LX570, but couldn't find a dealer that had one or they wanted several grand above sticker for a demo, so he said screw it and bought an Escalade. That gives him an extra $20k to throw down at the Wynn, so he's fine with it.

The only shagging he gets to do is with his wife, so from that perspective, it doesn't do him a whole lot of good. He didn't pick it up yesterday because the dealership was backed up and he needed to work late anyway, so he's supposed to get it this evening. I told him to pick my wife and me up and chauffeur us to Dairy Queen or something. Maybe DQ isn't such a good idea as he probably doesn't want hot fudge on the back seat of his new car.

Invoice is 63 and change for the L, not including hold backs etc.

If you read the forums, 8 grand off is about average for the 460L with some folks doing a bit better.

Of course, unless the guy is paying cash for it, there are other aspects to the "deal" that could have a signifigant impact in the actual cost.

He's not getting the LS460L, just a well-optioned LS460. He's paying cash, so he's not concerned about the interest rate or any other games the dealer can play.

Dang, I think I'll have to go get one now. Great car and definitely one of my favorite big cars (after the A8/S8). Just beautiful inside - very well built.

Wow, that's not a bad deal!
I thought the LS's price was comparable to say, a 7-series or an S-class.
For that price, it's even cheaper than a 550i.
Yeah, the LS is the ONLY Lexus I like.
Gorgeous car.
Tell him congrats.

Mmm nothing like rolling around in a living room on wheels. I thought about picking up an older LS430 for a daily driver but the gas efficiency isn't that good and I'd probably fall asleep and have a big accident since it's so comfortable/boring to drive.

The true opposite to your elise in every way.

They are fantastic cars, the long wheel base version in particular strikes my fancy. I spent a day driving everything in that genre with a friend; she ended up in the BMW camp but the Lexus was a close second and lost out only on brand cachet (ick sales people, but it is what it is) and oddly the seats, which she felt were too skewed in the park bench direction.
