Brand new 1987 Buick Regal GNX
#21
The GNX did exactly what it was meant to do, Go fast quickly in a straight line. I was in a few normal GNs back then (never a GNX) and they seemed as fast as a good running bigblock from the 60s, which was its goal. I thought is was kinda crazy for GM to make a car like that at the time and now it seems even crazier. THAT is why people like the car.

I get a muscle car magazine and it lists the auction results that happen every month. The latest issue listed an 87 GNX selling for $80k. Didn't say anything more than that. Also showcased a show where they took a picture of #547 the last one made but didn't get a chance to interview the owner before he left.
Kind of funny reading all of this stuff about the GNX's all of a sudden.
I had an 87 TA and always wanted the 89 TTA. Even now I can appreciate the 3rd Gen Trans Ams. It was a fun car.

GNXs around here get car jacked at carpoint in certain areas.
Anyway, great cars. Not every car is going to be a canyon carver, or a drag racer, but when a car manages to do one well, they tend to have strng followings. When they do both, they get really expensive.
I love them, but not my cup of tea.

I grew up with a muscle car loving dad so of course i love grand nationals and the t-types. I only saw one of the turbo trans-ams and that was when i was about 13 (around 1998) and saw a white one drive by that said official indy pace car on the door.
I owned a 88 GTA trans-am about a year and half ago. Bought it for $900 off someone who was expecting a kid anyday so he just wanted to sell it. It had the digital dash , tuned port 350 with 700r4 B&M trans and a little bit of engine work. I sold it 4 months later for $1600 to a co-worker and he went all out restoring it.
