I still don't understand the appeal...
Yes its fast but its an 80's Buick - its hideous!! I know a guy with T-Types/GN/GNXs - all of his are under 50K miles, some as low as 10-20K... I just don't understand.

The TTA with the GN/GNX engine is sex on wheels.
Faster than the corvette of its time, it was underrated so the vette engineers wouldnt be pissed off. 3.8Ls, boosted.
I love the GN/GNX just because not much people know about it. Ultimate sleeper

I don't get the appeal of a car that can go fast in a straight line and do nothing else.

They still had a bunch of GN motors laying around so then changed the heads so it would fit the TTA and made a few more than 1500 of them...
They were what they were and pretty much ruled the out of the box point and shoot world for a few years... extra points if you tweaked them... they were very fast and, for the record, the spit out more that 247 hp stock... that too was a myth to blind side Chevy.

Kona, did you have the TTA in hawaii? If so, do you know who has it? How much did you let it go for? I saw a T type in the local junkyard too.
When I was looking at buying my F-bodys, I wanted the TTA/GTA but I could never find a good priced GTA and I never once came across a TTA. The 3rd gen F-bodys werent that bad in turns either! It was light (for an american car) so I actually liked driving it...

30 grand was a ton of money in 87. Most mid-price vehicles back then sold for around 12-15. An '88 Monte Carlo SS was priced at 14,300. I once saw a GN lay parallel tracks for a mile.

Sad... the turbo Regal wound up being a full-blown drag car, painted purple, and ran in the 10's... that was the one to keep... very rare and coveted by the Buick crowd....
Funny to read some of the comments about these cars... I had only owned MG's, a couple of Porsche's, Hondas, etc... wouldn't even think of buying an American car... when I decided couldn't live without the ISF and sold the 87 GN the ISF deal fell through so I went out and bought the S2000.... the Buick guys thougt I was nuts... something about torque, or lack there of... man, out of all of them, I miss the Honda... they are great cars.
