Bought a 997.2; P car Envy got me finally
last year I bought a '19 RS3 and while it was amazing and I loved it I never fell in love with long term ownership and anything going wrong with it scared me away, I sold it recently for about what I paid and I purchased a 31k mile 94 Cobra to part time daily (work from home) and while it was cool the novelty wore off and the seating position in the SN95 mustang is trash.. lets fast forward to last weekend
After 2 weeks of cobra ownership I saw a 16k mile 09 997.2 was available at a local dealer so I went down to take a drive and see if its safe to meet your heroes. A 911 has always been a goal of mine and im in a place where I can financially afford it so I went with an open mind considering this specific car was a PDK w/o Sport Chrono and from my research you'd absolutely need Sport chrono so you dont have to feel like you're driving a 99 Camry with how slow shifting PDK can be in normal mode. Keep in mind Sport chrono can be added by the dealer after so no big deal right..
I really ended up loving the car on the test drive and we discussed and the dealer purchased my Cobra for a little more than I paid and we had a deal. Now I understand why the Porsche guys are such enthusiasts as well. Im sure this won't be the last car I buy so maybe in the future I can save up enough to get a 997 GT3, until then I'm super excited to drive this at a trackway in the near future. The aero wing isn't original so I've already sold it and ordered a Getty design ducktail so that should be here next week to have painted. without the aero or gt3 bumper the wing is a bit much for me and its for a 997.1 so the air intakes didn't work as they should. Now to lower it a bit, maybe get some nicer wheels and taking it to my local dealer tomorrow for the sport plus package to be added enabling sport, sport+ and launch control.

its honestly super smooth and nice but it does feel sedated without the sport mode. On my RS3 going from normal to sport it was night and day in response and shifting. I'm sure on road trips normal will be the preference but seems most guys put these in sport and leave it, sport plus the car doesn't go below 4k rpms so that'll be a bit extreme getting groceries lol
