Bought an '05 Raven R6
i was planning on getting a used sportbike, but i walked into the dealership and saw this and my jaw dropped:
this was two firsts for the dealership that sold it to me. first all black R6 sold, and first new bike to someone who's never ridden a bike before. i've put about 155 miles on it, and everyone of them has been awesome. you have to have a LOT of respect for a machine that has this kind of performance potential before you start trying to haul ass everywhere.
having said that, i think i've found a new obsession to replace my love for cars. if it came down to it and i had to sell the bike or sell the S and get a beater, i think the S would be the first to go. it feels like a golf cart now compared to the bike. however it is a huge chick magnet as well, so i really hope i never have to get rid or either.
so, total garage stats:
2 vehicles
25,000 rpms
360 hp
207 ft/lb torque

learning how to ride a bike is easy. learning how to ride a supersport the way it was supposed to be ridden is a completely different challenge. one that i am still months away from.
i can pin the throttle in second, but that doesn't take skill. keeping the bike out of a ditch is something you can only accomplish with a LOT of respect for a machine like this. you have to understand that the bike and everyone on the road wants to kill you.
having said all that the bike is a blast.

A co-worker of mine rides the same bike. I've always been a fan of the R1 and R6 series. Made my mouth drop the first time I saw this particular one as well.

Hot! I love that color scheme. I wish they had it when I got mine a couple years ago. But oh well.
Have you taken the MSF class? If not, you should. It will teach the fundamentals of riding a bike and low speed manuvering.
