Great discount. But $40k-$45k also buys you a 430hp C6 'Vette.
Also the wife sat in the Vett and its too big for her to drive. She couldn't even reach the pedals. Small asian women can't drive vettes. I don't really want to make it a my car only type of deal.

I hear you, dude. My wife can't even press the clutch all the way in on my s2000. Asian women and 6-speeds don't mix. I guess I'll just have to buy a c63 or GTR to remedy the situation.
The M3 was SMG so that was much easier to drive but she is doing fine with the Z4 and a 6-speed.

Hey, congratulations on your new M coupe. I also read your post on bimmerforums and it sounds like you got a fantastic deal.
Anyway, can you provide some input as to how it drives compared to your Z3 M coupe and perhaps the S2000?
I never thought I could afford one but if I can find a dealer who is willing to sell for $42k out the door (I don't care if it doesn't have a single option, although I would love the Premium Package, if only for the cruise control!), I think I can pull it off. Any advice on how to haggle?
I really appreciate it.

The steering feels stiffer and gives you better road feel than the s2k or the z3m.
Brakes are awesome. They are the same brakes as the CSL M3.
Clutch is weird because BMW adds a CDV valve in the clutch line so you don't abuse the clutch too much. It makes the 1-2 shift awkward. The valve can be easily removed which I will do soon. Removing it makes the clutch feel much better. The Z3m also has a CDV valve in the clutch line. The z3m transmission is horrible.
I haven't tracked it yet but handling feels pretty good. Very similar to an S2k. It is less twitchy than the Z3M.
Unfortunately the worse part about the car are the tires. This is one of the best cars out of the box similar to the s2k but BMW put crappy tires on it. I think they also may have dialed in a little too much understeer so people don't kill themselves. I'll probably put falkin Azenis on it with less of a tire stagger. The improved tire grip will make the car a monster.
One thing I notices was how quite the cabin is at high speed. Quiter than the M3. I think the more aerodymic shape and low profil reduced wind noise.

Nice car! Being 6'2" and 215lbs, I fit fine in the C6 and would choose it over the MCoupe. However, the MCoupe is definitely a unique machine and is sure to be a blast to drive.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
