Talking BMW VED concept sports car approved for production

German AMS reports that BMW's board of directors has decided to green-light the Vision Efficient Dynamics for production at the Leipzig plant. According to this report, the VED is scheduled to hit the market in 2013 using a regular combustion engine. The drivetrain concept shown at last year's unveiling of the VED (1.5l Diesel engine + two e-motors) is said to follow later. In other news, this report also mentions that the Leipzig plant is said to produce the new entry level BMW car.

I would *definitely* want a version without the transparent doors - that makes drive-around HJs a little awkward.
