According to Car and Driver (that was my disclaimer), they got 0-150 in about 28 seconds with a SMG M3! That is damn fast. The S2000 would maybe get to 130 at that point. That is faster than a stock Supra Turbo, NSX, Z28..........

I think most magazines are showing 13.3-13.5 for the

Well, I'm pretty sure the F20C engine are more reliable than the M3 engine.

The new M3's are pretty damn quick, but the one I played with didn't pull away nearly as fast as the LS1 Firebird that I played with. The M3 was going all out in a contest of speed, as was the Firebird, and odds say neither car was modded at all. I would guess the Firebird is fast enough to beat an M3 in pretty much any contest of speed, but only by a small margin. That is pretty rare company, however, and it hardly means the Firebird is a better car. They are different, and appeal to different tastes and budgets. If you plan on driving fast and racing all the time, the Firebird would be the better buy, simply because there is less money at risk. The M3 is for gentler driving habits, and kinder treatment all around, if only because more money didn't buy indestructibility.

Just like S2K, the M3 are not for drag racing. if Stock Z28 VS Stock M3, the chevy has no chance. i haven't race any c5 yet, so i have no comments about it. I am not here to start a flame but M3 are faster than you think.
I'm not trying to say you haven't beat a Z28 yet, I'm just saying it probably wasn't an 01 or 02 if you did. As far as the "no chance" comment goes.

I do have intake and catback but no headers or gears and I beat this guy the other night in his silver M3 two times. One from a roll and one from a stop. I wasn't trying to imply that M3's are slow, I was simply stating that they aren't as fast as everyone makes them out to be. Also mine is a six-speed which does make a difference with the Z28/TA. Maybe it was good shifting on my part...who knows. But they do have a chance for sure.

The m3 is a very quick car...if your talking the e46...the e36 even is decent... I dont want to start a war.. but an m3 will definitely take an s2000 no problem.. and even an e36 m3 will give the s2000 a run.....however.....these bmws were never meant to be drag cars...or go straight in a fast line... if they were up against a z06.. yes..they would get their ass handed to them.. the z06 is actually a magnificent car for price.. and the power your gettin.. its handling actually outperformed or was on par with the m3 also... I think m3's are awesome.. not because they outperform many cars... not all.. but they give the whole pckg.... luxury....performance...ergonomics...room for 4.. .while lookin good..
