I am totally digging the front bumper. Looks very purposeful.

a base m3 with better paint and leather interior costs $65,696. The M2 will be about $52k.... $14k difference is substantial. I'd take the M2.

Nice! Beautiful car and all the performance you need. I'm still partial to older, more raw Japanese cars though.

One of the things I love about BMW is the fact that they still offer a manual gearbox in a luxurious car. Even though automatic technology is now, perhaps, faster than the manual; BMW still offers it!

Meanwhile Audi is killing the manual swiftly and merciless.

Here's my Audi impersonation:

(Offers several cars with manual transmission option, yet severely limits the availability of those options/build packages)

"look, nobody is buying these cars with manuals! So we're gonna drop the manual option"

It's not some grand scheme by all the manufacturers to stop manual. As long as manual take rates are high, they will still build them. BMW M chief said the same thing. Since the m3 6 spd take right is still a decent percentage, they will continue to build them. Unfortunately, enthusiasts are the minority.

I'm reminded of the quote, never suspect malice when stupidity will suffice.

The problem is that the take rate especially at BMW dealerships, where most customers want to buy a car off the lot, is going to be severely limited because dealers don't stock cars with manual transmissions. I have gone to both my local BMW dealerships and found zero manual transmission cars on the lot. Hard to take something when it isn't available for you to purchase or test drive.

Thats not a conspiracy against manuals. The reason is bc almost no one wants them. I know a few dealers in my area, and they never order cars for inventory like that bc manuals sit for longer.
