BMW M2

I have owned an 1m and have driven e30 M3, 228i, m235 ect... Honestly the E30 is a fantastic car for its time but it never was my favorite to drive, its a lot of hype. The M235i was fun to drive and some goodies like LSD and MPE and a nice tune really makes for a fun and fast coupe but still it doesnt feel nearly as fun as the M2 and 228I. The M2 is also a lot of hype and i wouldn't for a second enjoy it more then an M4 or M3. I have driven a customers 228i manual and that car has downpipes, tune, exhaust, and felt nice and responsive fun to throw around and for the price excellent to drive. Gets in the high 30's MPg.
i wouldnt buy an E30 m3 unless to collect and sell..
I wouldnt buy an M235i since there are better options for the price..
I wouldnt buy another 1M unless to collect and sell..
I wouldnt buy a M2 unless it was an absolute steal..
I would surely get a 228i as a DD to enjoy for cheap quality fun..
Then again i was DDing my 15 F80M3 for almost 20k before getting rid of it....

The 228 verdict was a bit surprising but I can see why they chose what they did. I still wouldn't own a 228i though.
I'd even seriously consider a 228i if I could option in the LSD.
But, for the money, what else is there- golfR? focus ST? another used s2000?
