Wow - roughly 380 hp and 415 ft-lbs at the crank (assuming 15% losses). That's fantastic!

I believe it's the appropriate time to say this (not to you, but to all the people complaining about "335 hp"): I told you so!

It'd be good to get independent confirmation of those power levels on a few other vehicles from owners but even if it dropped off a few hp, you're still talking 360+ hp and 400+ ft-lbs of torque.

Any word on a convertible version? I'm considering an M3 Vert, but the 1 series is lighter than the 3, which is ~100lbs lighter than the M3, but both the 3/M3 convertibles use a hardtop so they get dinged with dinged with a 400+ lb weight penalty. Looks like a 135 vert is ~470lbs lighter than a M3 vert (though I realize a 1M vert might pick up some weight due to the brakes/chassis/etc.).

You'd also get better trunk space (I *think*) on the 1 series with the top down since it uses a soft-top.

Yeah, you don't generally get to 60mph in 4.6 seconds in a car like this with 335hp. Figure closer to 400hp ala Inside Line testing. Awesome car though. Wish I could afford one

More like 390 and 426 (assuming 15% losses). It must be one fast little car!

However, after having seen the 135i like a thousand times in person, I still hate the way it looks.

Did you see the article above that I quoted? BMW isn't making anymore 1 series M coupes after 2011. Game over. No more coupes and def no convertibles.
