Getting the proper safety equipment is a definite. I wear my seat belt when driving around the block, so I'm definitely purchasing quality gear before I start to ride. I know that starts to get quite expensive so if you know of any reliable sources, preferably online, please let me know. Thank you

Anyone have any experience with the sv650? I was told it was a good bike. I was thinking of getting one as my first bike, good idea? I have a little riding experience and will be taking one of the safety courses over the summer.

I had an 03 R6 it was sweet, it was light, and easy to throw around, it'll be more than enough for a beginner. For a first bike I'd definately say your making the right decision. And a K&N on an R6 is not a good thing.
