Default Biggest Loss and Biggest gain on a car for you personally?

Winners:

Shogun 002 of 007 made...had $20.5k invested and sold it for $23,500 (thanks CG).

I bought a used Rodeo one time, drove it for 1.5 years and sold it to friends of ours for $400 more than i had in it (including sales tax, registration, etc....)..... then they drove it for a year and sold it for another $1k beyond that (dickheads.... i was helping them out i thought).

Losers:

My Red S2000... i had for 2 full years and lost $8,622 just on the car, but another $1.5k lost in modifications (Beig) that i resold for much less than i paid.

Biggest one year loss.... 1998 GSR 4 door purchased new - lost $6.5k in one year (sold it with 15k miles for the red S2000).

I don't have any winners.

'97 Ford Explorer V8... bought new for $33k. Sold a year ago for $10k to Carmax. Advertised for 2 months at $14k and not a single call.

'01 GTI VR6... bought new for $22k, sold for $19.5k with 9500 miles and after 7 months of use. Not dissapointed with the loss on that one.

Good thread!

Losers:

1990 Jeep Wrangler - Paid $5750 w/72k miles - put in a stereo, stainless hinges, etc (about $800 or so). Transmission blew, -$1200. Sold it with 101k for $5000. Could've been worse I guess.

1997 Maxima SE - Haven't gotten rid of it yet, but paid $17k and have put 50K miles on it to be at about 100k right now. Too many scratches dents and chips to count, would be lucky to get $6k for it on a trade right now.

Winner:

1984 Jeep CJ7 for $2400. Invested a few hundred in seat covers and black spraypaint and sold it for $4000 a year later.
