biggest 4Cyl engine
Whats the biggest I4 thats ever been made?
Someone was talking to this guy about his accord, they asked if it was a V6 and he said no its a 4cyl, and they go oh so its probably about 3Liters? I told them no 2.4..
anyways it made me think, if i have ever even heard of a 3.0 I4 engine, and the highest i can think of is a 2.5 I4 Duratec engine or whatever it is that GM has..
So im just curious if anyone know what the biggest 4cyl anyone ever made was? (this is being OEM, Stroker kits dont count)

thanks, didnt even think to look at wiki
This straight engine configuration is the most common in cars with a displacement up to 2.4 litres. The usual "practical" limit to the displacement of straight-4 engines in a car is around 2.7 litres. However, Porsche used a 3.0 L four in its 944 S2 and 968 sports cars
that just about sums it up right there

Colorado/Canyon trucks have a 2.9L 4 banger. That's the biggest currently in production based on my knowledge.
It's a monster too See vid of 0-60:
