M Coupe is amazing! It was very tail-happy and easy to do powerslides (controlled oversteer). Never driven it on the track, but I would imagine that it would be fun to drift as well.

As an S2K owner, I suggest you to get the M3, if you are driving a car with big torque now. If you are driving a Japanese car now (with no turbo), you would be happy with the S2K.
M3 is definitely quicker than the S2K at any speed. Get the topless M3 if you can.

First, the difference between the M3 coupe and the S2000 is way more than $5K. The S2000 can be had for $32 to $35K. The M3 is a $45K car (remember BMW's have lots of options). It really depends what you want in a car. The M3 is torquier, faster (stock), 4 seat car, solid Germanic quality but it is also way heavier, and track/street handling is nowhere near S2K for flickability. The S2K is way lighter, more go-cart/track type of car, with Honda reliability but the lack of low end torque makes street driving tiresome unless you constantly rev it. Both have great gearboxes. If you are looking for a convertible add another $6K-$7K to the BMW. With the extra money you can fix up the S2K with the Vortech SC coming out soon, or the Speed craft turbo and blow away the M3, but void your warranty in the process. Don't know if you are into fixing up your car. Both outstanding cars just very different. I will caution you on the M3 as there has been a problem with them throwing rods on the race track. I have heard this several times. I have seen video of one "blowing up", and I was actually at Willow when one threw up all over the track when it's rods went. One is like a formula 1 race car, the other is like Nascar. Try them both out and figure one you like.

Sorry didn't see the difference between Z06 and M3 part (thought M3 vs. S2K), but the Z06's are sick fast cars, but interior is just plain nasty, and not really light and flickable like an S2000. S2K = $32-$35K, M3 about $45K, and Z06 = $50K

The M Coupe start at around $45 grand, the M3 coupe w/ 333 HP starts at around $46 grand. I would rather get the M3 coupe because it is a larger car, seats 4 comfotable, SMG II, and is better looking.

Being that the new M3 is only available as a coupe I can't figure out why we try to confuse ourselves in this thread by adding the coupe bit.
M coupe = 2 door hard topped tail happy little rocket.
M3 = 2 door sedan.
-Steve (who will never ever ever sell his M coupe but is parting with the S2000 soon).
