Consumer Reports
"If you're in the market for a sports car, the $32,440 Honda S2000 delivered impressive acceleration with superb handling and braking -- on par with the $47,565 Porsche Boxter."
P.S. I love reading about the excellent "base price" of competitors, and then adding up everything I want. Not such a value anymore, especially when you get the dealer's market value adder!

I really think that it will be the best value. It will offer the straight line perfomance of highend cars and be useable to the entire family. it will be only a few grand more than the Miata and MR-2 but wholly out accelerate them in stock form. the handling may not be razor sharp, but that's why our cars were created.
I welcome it with open arms and pray for it's success. if you want a bonafide 2 door sportscar, you either have to get the WRX which happens to have 2 additional doors or move up to the corvette with it's $43,000 price tag.
Plus it will give your "street encounters" forum the variety it needs.
