IMO, the E60 M5 is only challenged by the new M3 as the best sounding sedan...at least that I've heard. I'm sure the Maserati sedan would give both a run for their money w/ its Ferrari-derived engine.

That sound reminds me of a Civic with a fart can.

I also think the Maserati sounds better.

My vote would still go to the Maserati Quattroporte though...

I admittingly don't know much about the various engines in the newer M-cars, but is this the same 5.0 V10 in the M6?? I love that car. I saw one the other day at my local wal-mart (yea.. Wal-mart) wearing a nice set of HREs, and when it took off it sounded so good Too bad they cost as much as Im looking to spend on my 1st house

maybe its just me but i like the pitch.. but it sounds like its not really trying.. like at half throttle? anyone else notice this? just doesnt sound... mean enough?

And that high pitch exhaust note is BY FAR my favorite exhaust noise, and it does sound very nice, i just wish it sounded a little more.. meaner i guess is the only word i could come up with, a little more F355ish heh

but all in all i say its pretty sweet, especially for a 4d

I like the grunty sounding AMG 6.2 better, especially dig the burble on lift off. The BMW V10 sounds a bit weak at idle and low rpm. The V10 does sound amazing with big revs, but I think the AMG V8 will be making sweet music more of the time.

E60 M5 motor only sounds good at full throttle and higher rpm. I'd take the E63 Mercedes as a better sounding all around motor. The Maserati is probably the best sounding sedan. I wonder what the new supercharged 556hp CTS-V sounds like at full wack? I bet it has a nice sound too.
