I've always liked the older boxier BMWs. The original E28 M5 is still sharp, and especially the E34 model.
The Corvette I'd say has gone from an American-tastes-only kind of car to a real world-class performer in the time alotted.

The gold back 15 years ago was the worst reliable car made and it still is today.
I think Hyundai takes the cake easily for this. Last reviews I was reading ranking its reliabilty up with Honda.. wow...

It goes back more than 14 years and hasn't been produced every year since it's introduction, but I think the Chevy Impala would get one of my votes for the most "ups and downs".
I love the 59, my favorite Impala with those horizontal fins.
64's are basic but sweet and as you can see popular with the lowriders.
78', the year I was born not the best for the Impala.
96' my second favorite Impala, I love this example shown here.
04', not my cup of tea.

I second Hyundai. They have gone from complete trash to a quite good brand. they have changed their names a lot.
the only same-name car I can think of is the Golf/Jetta, although they still have minor mechanical issues.
The least changed same-name car quality-wise? The Cavalier. They are still crap. BMW 3 for consistent quality.
