I have two Garmin Nuvi 200s--great basic unit---runs about $160 from Amazon.com or best buy---only drawback is it doesn't speak street names--the cheapest Garmin that does that runs about $220

Oo I been lookin for a "good" and "affordable" one too.
I hear garmin seems to be the top dog in the industry. But they got so many I dont know which one to get.

the 200 is their cheapest unit---does all the basis--gets me from point A to B very well and is very easy to program--doesn't have a lot of bells and whstles (no blue tooth, etc) but all I wanted was a basic unti--bought one a year ago (for $299) and just bought a second one (for $159)
very happy with it

I just picked up a Mio Digiwalker C320 - http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=898415 for 105 + tax. If you are interested in hacking the unit, it is a very powerful unit. Out of the box it doesn't do much, but you can add text to speech, new maps, pda functionality, videos and alternate nav programs pretty easily.

I'm replacing my nuvi 350 that flew out of my car , and if you don't want a unit to mess with, the garmins are the way to go: fast, easy, accurate, but limited in terms of bells/whistles.

garmin nuvi FTW! i work at circuit city in car electronics and i sell garmins all day long. i have a garmin 760 and it is amazing! garmin is the only thing i would buy.. they have there own satilities so its the fastest responding!! and def easiest to use!!

200 series dosent talk street names so if thats a prob go with the 260 and above!

Look for screaming close-out deals from sites like getfeetwet or buydig.
