I looked at The '93 on RX7 (FD) and '90 on 300ZX Twin Turbo but eventually chose the S because I decided I wanted a reliable car that was fun to drive and looked stunning; the other 2 cars cannot meet all 3 criteria. The maintinence costs are what eventually drove me away from the Z and RX7.

I checked out the 350z and the RX8...at that time I wasn't even thinking about the S...then I moved away from them and was focused on Evo or STi...when I was ready to buy, I couldn't get the right deal on the Evo...so I sat around a little while longer...and thought...I still had my old 99 Eclipse GST but it was being sold soon...
So after it sold, I was buying a 97 GSXR 650 from my friend...but that didn't go with my parents, I was going to use the bike and wait for the EVO MR...
Then I thought some more...the S was always in the back of my head, I'd ridden in one before and loved it...so I started looking for one, then I found mine, and I must say I couldn't be any happier with my decision...I LOVE the S2000...it is an awesome car.
I also had the C5, FD (RX7), R33 Skyline, an Eclipse GSX on the mind...but none of that really lasted cause I knew I didn't really want them.
The S is perfect for me as I don't need all the space, it looks awesome, is RWD (I HAD to get away from FWD), and is just plain fun to drive...after I bought it, I also realized that the community is very friendly and helpful as well

Currently considering an S2000 or a WRX.
I found a dealer selling WRX's for 2K under invoice and 4K under MSRP, with NO haggling! Plus, I live in a VERY hill city in West Virginia and when it snows.. you NEED 4WD to get around. However, I think I'm willing to give that up for a proper sports car. I live downtown anyway, so if it snows.. I can walk.
Oh, and apparently S2K insurance is cheaper than the WRX.

It's an auto mall (like 3 or 4 dealerships) in the MD/PA area. STi's go for ~2-3K under MSRP.. usually around invoice.
Check out www.fitzmall.com . It wouldn't be that big of a trip from NY.
